Get in the Game!

Is it possible to attend church your entire life and still not go to heaven? Can we get so comfortable with our surroundings and church terminology but never make it personal? Many church members are just going through the motions because church has become a routine. Even when we don’t attend our church service, we could still anticipate every detail of the service. We know when the timing of the offering and how many songs will be sung and could even predict what time the service will end. Let’s break out of our routines!
Christianity is not a sideline experience but requires personal involvement. The disciples were so excited about his personal experience with Jesus that they shared it. We are not called to be a fan of Jesus but to be a follower. When we get a good deal at the store, we want to tell our friends about it. When a restaurant opens and the food is especially good, we tell others. God calls us to be people of action. Are you a fan or a follower? Christians belong on the field! We were not designed to be spectators, but designed to be participators!
We may wear a cross, but we don’t bear the cross. You can come to church, know all the songs and say grace before lunch but that doesn’t make you a follower. We don’t mind some minor changes but Jesus wants to turn your life upside down. The truth is that only letting Jesus turn our lives upside down that we find real life. Jesus didn’t come to earth to smooth out your rough spots and give good behavior to your children. In Romans 12, Jesus came to bring total transformation to your life. It’s time to be real!
