Four ROTC Cadets graduate from Leadership Academy

Four Colleton County Naval Junior ROTC Cadets, Christian Beasley, Marlin Bishop, Daniel O’Brien, and Ethan Smallwood, graduated from the NJROTC Area Six Leadership Academy on June 22, at the Citadel in Charleston.

The weeklong course was designed to enhance the basic attitude, knowledge, and skills required to practice the art of leadership. The academy promoted habits of orderliness and precision, challenged the cadets to push their physical and intellectual limits, and instilled personal honor, self-reliance, and confidence.

Coursework included physical fitness, military drill, sword manual, orienteering, personnel and room inspections, field leadership, etiquette, and manners.

During the upcoming school year, Cadet Ensign Beasley will be the Armed Drill Team Commander, cadet Ensign Bishop will be Rifle Team/Platoon Commander, Cadet Ensign O’Brien will be the Supply Officer, and Cadet Ensign Smallwood will be a Platoon Commander.

Additionally, Cadet Ensign Justice Riley completed the NJROTC Area Six Sail Academy held in Moncks Corner on June 13. She is also the Unit’s Administrative Officer.
