On Friday, October 17, the Colleton Center will present “A Tribute to Country Legends” and “A Salute to Elvis” in the historic Hampton Street Auditorium. Featuring Elvis impersonator Jason Sikes, the two-hour performance will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets are being sold in advance at Griffin Jewelers, Bachelor Hill Antiques, the Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce and The Colleton Center. Seats in the first front three rows ($15) may be reserved by calling 549-8360.

Jason Sikes is one of the most recognized names when it comes to Elvis tribute artists. He has been an entertainer for 12 years, has won numerous awards and appeared on countless television shows. Whether with tracks or a band, Jason can reproduce a different look to capture Elvis during all stages of his life.

Sikes began his career in 1998 singing at a wedding reception. He won his first Elvis contest that same year, and has been a seven-time world finalist at the “Images of the King” contest in Memphis. Jason has appeared on MTV and local radio stations in the Augusta area. He has performed as the opening act for the Marshall Tucker Band, Joe Diffie and .38 Special.

Laura Snipes, a member of the Orangeburg Line Dancers, said, “We have invited Jason to perform in our community numerous times, always to sell-out crowds. He is awesome, and I am one of his groupies!”

The mission of the Colleton Center, a 501 C3 organization, is to provide for the renovation and restoration of the historic Hampton Street Elementary School building and for the development of a premiere arts and civic center, serving the interests and talents of the diverse lowcounty residents and visitors.

The Hampton Street Auditorium is located in the Colleton Center, at 494 Hampton Street.
