CPA Varsity Football starts regular season Thursday

Colleton Prep War Hawks Varsity Football team traveled to Orangeburg Prep Friday night to play in the Orangeburg Prep Jamboree. The War Hawks fell short to Orangeburg Prep 7 to 21.
Colleton Prep Head Varsity Football Coach Greg Langdale said, “I thought we started out really slow on offense with a couple of false starts and a couple of bad snaps. These mistakes put us behind the chains on our first two possessions and we were unable to convert in third and long. We were able to get something going offensively in the second quarter and had a good drive that led to a touchdown run by Jordan Crosby.
Crosby rushed five times for 55 yards and a touchdown and also had 150 yards passing. Gabe Barnes had four carries for 39 yards. Riley Smoak had three carries for 28 yards. Jacob Breland and Drew Murdaugh had five tackles each.
“We still have some things to work out on the offense, but we do feel the mistakes we made are correctable. We just have to do a better job of tackling and coming up with plays in the secondary when they present themselves,” added Coach Langdale.
The War Hawks will be on the road Thursday night to face Branchville High School at 7:30pm. Come out and support these young men as they kick off their regular season.
