The Colleton County Cougar basketball team continues to struggle, falling 80-53 to Fort Dorchester on Tuesday, January 19 at home. They now sit at 0-3 in region play and 3-12 on the season.
De’lajae Ferguson and Nyheem Green both had 11 points in the game for the Cougars. KJ Levine had nine points and Viktor Payne added seven.
Coach Maurice Simmons blamed ball control for the Cougars’ loss against Fort Dorchester. “We must take better care of the ball,” said Simmons. “We get up then we turn the ball over like pouring out water. It is the simple things that are hurting us. We will take the next few days and go correct some things that are hindering us. We are really backed into a corner. Now, it is time to see if our fight is as loud and hard as our bark.”
The Cougars will have two home games to turn things around in region play. They will face Ashley Ridge on Tuesday, January 26 and Summerville on Friday, January 29.
