Warhawk Volleyball Fights For Two Wins

On Monday, September 18, the Colleton Prep Warhawks volleyball team traveled to take on Patrick Henry. The two JV squads would take the floor first with Patrick Henry proving to be too tough for the young Warhawk JV team winning 25-18 and 25-23. In the close match, Caroline Jones served up 7 and Taylor Tomedolskey pounded 5 kills on the afternoon.

The Warhawk varsity would take the floor next quickly dropping the first two sets 26-24 and 25-19. The Warhawks would not give up as they fought back taking the next three sets 25-23, 25-17 and 16-14 to take the match. Langley Harter and Jessica Hughes both earned five aces. Harter put away 15 kills added by 12 from Ella Nolte.

On Tuesday, CPA welcomed Beaufort Academy to town. The Warhawk JV took the win in the opening match 25-18 and 25-9. Caroline Jones had 6 aces with Cassie Craven adding 5 of her own.
In the evening match, the Warhawks struggled to look like the same squad. Beaufort Academy swept CPA 25-20, 25-17 and 25-23. Harter and Emily Wilson led CPA from the service line with Harter having 6 aces and Wilson with 3. Harter once again showed her power at the net with 11 aces and Nolte tallying 7.

Thursday would see Thomas Heyward come to town for a conference match. The CPA JV squad easily handled Thomas Heyward winning 25-8 and 25-13. Bailee Stanley came up big on the serve having 15 aces on the afternoon. Stanley was also strong at the net with her and Tomedolskey putting away 3 aces apiece.

The varsity match would be hard fought, as it would go to five sets. Thomas Heyward would get the night rolling with a first set win 25-21. The Warhawks battled back taking the second and third sets 25-15 and 25-19. Thomas Heyward would win the fourth set 25-21 forcing the fifth and final set. The Warhawks showed poise winning the fifth set and the match 15-9. Nolte led the way in the match with 6 aces. Emily Wilson added 5 aces of her own. Weslin Jones was the power on the floor with 15 kills. Harter and Nolte added 11 apiece. Ally Crook had 2 strong blocks on the evening..
