The annual Cottageville Tractor Parade is happening this Saturday

The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14th, with the lineup of participants rolling down the town’s main street, or U.S. Highway 17A. Street closures will begin prior the event.

According to event organizer and newly-elected Cottageville Town Councilman Ted Underwood, the parade will feature about one dozen tractors, lawnmowers and horses. There is no entry fee for anyone wanting to participate in the parade. “We are expecting more people to be in the parade on the day of the event. You can just show up and be involved,” said Underwood.

The event will also feature some craft vendors, food vendors and other participants from area non-profits and churches, who will have tents and informational booths set up for the public.
“We will have a little bit of everything,” he said.

The town’s tractor parade is organized and hosted by the Cottageville Revitalization Committee. It is not a fundraiser for the town, but is instead an event that the committee is hosting for town residents and guests to enjoy, said Underwood. The committee is a citizen-comprised ad-hoc committee that creates events for the town. In the past, this committee has also focused on some beautification efforts within the town limits. “This is something we are doing for the public,” he said, referring to the tractor parade.
