Stuff the Bus project still collecting school supplies

(L to R) CMC Food Service Director Kevin Murphy, Colleton School District Superintendant Leila Williams, Colleton County School Board Member and Sheriff’s Office Major Paul Haas, and CMS Dietary Department Operations Manager Bryan Ray.

Although approximately 200 pounds of school supplies collected from Colleton Medical Center (CMC) were delivered to the Colleton County School District Office on South Jefferies Boulevard Thursday, Items may still be dropped off at the CMC’s Emergency Room lobby, the center’s Cafeteria, and within the Gift Shop. Items will be accepted over the next few weeks.

Operations Manager of CMC’s Dietary Department Bryan Ray and CMC’s General Food Service Director Kevin Murphy were involved with the project’s success.

“We hold this every year to help children in Colleton County who just can’t afford school supplies,” Ray said. He added the drive is part of a Sodexo project that occurs nationwide on a yearly basis. “The real legs and feet that make this project go are the hospital volunteers,” Ray added.
