Student Spotlight

Ashlyn Rawls
Grade: 12th grade
School: Colleton County High School

For Colleton County High School Senior Ashlyn Rawls, her final year in high school has been filled with new challenges and many great memories. Ashlyn plays softball for the CCHS Varsity Cougar Softball Team, is the Vice President of the National Honor Society, and the Student Leader of Cougar New Tech Student Ambassadors. For Ashlyn, beginning her senior year she was most excited about her position as Vice President of NHS, however when she was asked to be the Student Leader of the Student Ambassadors she quickly realized the importance and excitement of her new role. For Ashlyn, her tenure at Colleton County High has been positive, “There are a lot of opportunities,” Ashlyn said “I was able to do my English 3 through USC- Salk so it has opened the door up to get that out of the way before I actually get to college and I really enjoyed that part.” When asked if there was a teacher who guided her along the way, Ashlyn said she could never name just one, “I get this bond with teachers and everyone that I have had has made a different impact on my high school career.” Ashlyn will graduate with the Class of 2018 in June and begin her college years next fall as she hopes to attend either the University of South Carolina or Charleston Southern University. Ashlyn intends on studying to become a neonatal nurse, “I love babies and I want to work with them.”
