Scootin’ Boots

Dressed in their red shirts with the shining Christmas trees on front and black slacks and black shoes, the Lowcountry Scootin’ Boots shared their love of dance, favorite Christmas Carols, and the Christmas Spirit with several groups in Colleton County.

On December 4, the group danced at Shepherd’s Care; on December 6, the Victory Victory House; on December 11, at U-Pac Oakwood; on December 18, at Colleton Courtyard; and on December 20, at the Senior Center.

Each guest was given warm Christmas wishes and small furry stuffed animals.  The guests smiled, tapped their feet and sang the old familiar songs that fill the air during the Christmas season and some guests joined the girls on the dance floor.  The Scootin’ Boots finished their performances by singing, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

The Lowcountry Scootin’ Boots also performed at the Colleton Medical Center H2U Christmas party on December 13th.  This is the 18th year in a row that they have danced at the H2U Christmas party.

This year found the ladies doing more than dancing.  They collected canned goods for local food pantries as well as helped a family devastated by Hurricane Sandy.  They joined with the senior fitness class and collected over 100 children’s books for the AT&T Pioneers South Carolina literacy drive.

The Lowcountry Scootin’ Boots danced at Fit Life on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00.  The last class for this year was Thursday, December 20.  Classes will resume on January 3, 2013, at 10:00.  We welcome newcomers and beginner dancers.  They look forward to sharing their love of dance with more people and are excited to have new faces and feet join their group.
