It’s Retail Therapy expands to East Washington Street

By Christie Slocum

For the past three years Colletonians have traveled to Hampton County to shop at It’s Retail Therapy.  It was during a recent trip to the market that owner Jennifer Crosby and her sister in law Rachel Kramer hear that Colletons store was for sale.  It did not take the two long to decide they wanted to expand the successful Hampton-based business to Walterboro.

The boutique will be focused on selling unique items to both men and women.  The Walterboro store will be owned and managed by Rachel Kramer.  This store will have an advantage as her daughter Courtney Kramer will be buying for shoppers who are in her same demographic.  Courtney, who is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, will be providing shoppers with racks of the young, contemporary look.  Courtney has been employed by the Hampton store since it opened in 2011. She is also involved in the web page which is currently being developed and should be up and running by the end of the summer.  She will continue to be the administrator of the web page and assist with online orders while at school in the fall.

Rachel Kramer and Jennifer Crosby will be responsible for providing the store with looks for the group of us who no longer can wear the college look.  Shelley Thomas, customer of It’s Retail Therapy, believes Rachel is more aware of what shoppers want.  “I feel like it will be important to Rachel to provide sizes that will fit everybody,” said Thomas.  Thomas was very pleased with her shopping experience.  She was able to purchase a dress and have Rachel help her accessorize it with a necklace for around forty dollars which Thomas felt was very affordable.

Joy Joy, Jade, Charisma, Naked Zebra, and Amanda Uprichard are some of the lines the store will carry for the ladies.  They will also be getting Southern Tide for Men.  The store is full of fun accessories.  They have a variety of jewelry, headbands, bags, and scarves.  They are hoping to add some shoes to their inventory soon.  One of the advantages to having more than one store is they can share inventory with the Hampton location.  Their computer systems are linked and they can tell you if they can get what you need from the Hampton store.                                                                                                 041
