PRTC will host live Radio link for CCHS Football this Friday

This Friday’s Homecoming football game between the Colleton County High School Cougars and West Ashley High School will be broadcast “live” on the Internet through a partnership of PRTC and Kinetic hi-fi Community Radio.  Fans will need to go the PRTC website; www.prtc.coop and, on Friday, they will find a link that will take them to the broadcast of the game. They will also be able to catch the game on their smartphone or tablet by downloading the TuneIn Radio app and then searching for Cougar Sports Radio.

Greg Pryor will be handling the play-by-play announcing. Greg trained with Buzz Benson and David Williamson for many years and also worked with them on the broadcasts of the last 6 games last season. He has a son, Peyton, who is a Junior Offensive Tackle for the Cougars.  Greg will be assisted by Russell “Coach” Polk, who will take care of the “color” portion of the broadcast. Coach Polk knows and loves the game of football and is happy to be bringing his experience into the broadcast booth. Chuck Crabtree of PRTC will be there to do live promos.

Right now, the plan is to at least broadcast the remaining home games, but it is possible that CCHS, PRTC, Kinetic Hi-Fi and the new broadcast team may deliver the away games via the Internet this year, too. This group will also be investigating the potential of getting these broadcasts onto a radio antenna in the future. In addition, CCHS has a local channel on PRTC’s Digital TV service that they will be using to rebroadcast videos of the games.

“PRTC is always pleased when we can enhance the lives of Colletonians through our growing suite of communications services, whether that entails connecting a phone call from a loved one or helping facilitate a broadcast of Cougar football, said Crabtree, PRTC’s Director of Marketing.  “We are also fortunate to have forged great relationships with the Charleston media and we look forward to leveraging those partnerships to bring additional opportunities to the citizens and businesses that we serve.”
