Many enjoyed Harvest Festival

A large crowd enjoyed several different activities at the Harvest Festival held at the Farmers Market at the Colleton Museum on Memorial Avenue last Wednesday.

People attending the event enjoyed an Antique Tractor display put on by the Salkehatchie Engine and Tractor Club; skills exhibits which included woodworking, making corn syrup, making dolls out of corn husks, food preservation, among other sites; face-painting for children; live music by guitarist Brian Cassedy. (Cassedy provides guitar instruction at the Arts Council building, and in private residences. On Saturdays, he gives lessons in Ehrhardt); pumpkin decorating; and games such as a bean-bag toss, horseshoes, and ladder ball.

A petting zoo and pony rides were offered by the Palmetto Pony 4-H Club to help celebrate the Harvest Fair at the Colleton County Farmer’s Market on November 3rd. We would like to thank all that came by to visit and help support our club.
