“Love Him Love Them Orphan Choir” to perform at First Baptist Walterboro

Colleton County residents are going to be blessed on Saturday night as the “Love Him Love Them Orphan Choir” takes center stage at First Baptist Church in Walterboro at 7:00 pm. The group of children are from Haiti and range from ages 4 to 22. The choir toured the United States last summer and entertained thousands who enjoyed their music and loved hearing their story. In total, 22 children will sing songs in English, Creole and Spanish.

Members of the choir all live in the same orphanage just outside of Petionville in Haiti. The choir was born from tragedy. All by the age of four, lost everything during an earthquake in 2010. Most of them lost their entire family. By the grace of God, they found their way to the home of The Paul’s, who were music teachers. The Paul’s never intended on having an orphanage, but out of necessity, the LifeSaver Orphanage was born. The Paul’s used music to bring the family closer together and to also help spread God’s love.

During their tour last summer, the Love Him Love Them Orphan Choir sang the national anthem for the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta United Soccer Team. They also performed with Grammy Award Winner Kirk Franklin and The Embers. The concert will be packed with worshipful music, dancing and interaction with the audience. There will be something for every member of the family. In a press release about the choir, it describes the children as having such genuine joy and peace even though they have suffered such loss from the 2010 earthquake.

The “Love Him Love Them” (LHLT) organization is a non-profit Christian Ministry that helps orphans in Haiti and Ukraine. The group provides food, transportation, running water, water truck, school supplies, clothing, education, medicine and other necessities to the LifeSaver orphanage in Pétionville, Haiti. LHLT also provides Christmas gifts to Lifesaver and many other orphanages in the surrounding community through our “Christmas in a Gallon Bag” program. LHLT provides grant money to assist American families adopting children from Ukraine. Also, funds are sent monthly to help with needs in the orphanages (diapers, socks, whatever current needs they have.) The Ukraine orphanage children draw art and make crafts to sell to help support the children in Haiti. LHLT provides annual Pastor Training to help educate and disciple Pastors in Haiti thru the Evange-a-cube and also “Experiencing God” Bible Study. LHLT helps build churches in Haiti that start in small home groups and then move into larger buildings as they grow.
