Lion’s Club to host pancake supper

The Walterboro Lions Club will hold its annual Harold Kane Memorial Pancake Supper on Thursday, February 28 at the Forest Hills Elementary School Cafeteria at 633 Hiers Corner Road from 5-7 p.m.

lionsThe pancake supper dates back to the 1960’s, and this event is the club’s largest fundraiser. The Lions Club spends most of its efforts focusing on aiding individuals with eyesight conservation. Generally, this occurs through the provision of eyeglasses. The Lions Club also supports the Storm Eye Institute in Charleston, the Leader Dog organization, and Camp Leo for blind and sight impaired children from the area.

The supper has been renamed after the passing of Harold Kline, a beloved figure in Walterboro and surrounding Colleton County who was very active in both the Lions Club and the Boy Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts will be assisting the Lions in selling tickets for the event.

Community members are invited to come out to support this worthwhile cause. The Lions Club members work hard to make this supper possible, and community participation and donations are greatly appreciated.
