Lady Cougars Claim Victory Against Bamberg Ehrhardt

This has been quite an exciting season for the Colleton County Lady Cougars so far this year. They are currently 4-1, and continue to work hard each week to secure their place in the region. Last week the Lady Cougars showed up and played a hard game against Bamberg Ehrhardt securing a win and again against Wade Hampton High School, where they continued to dominate the court. Although the Coaches have been searching for a consistent player to led the team, there have been several players who have shown great potential and continue to show major activity on the score boards. Omari Kirkland, Kari Edwards, and Shantasia Allen have proven to pull big points during several games.

This week the Lady Cougars faced Bamberg Ehrhardt for the second week in a row and again secured a victory with a final score of 48-28. According to Head Coach Smalls, “We are beginning to get more out of players like Allen and Hugie.” These ladies have continued to led the Cougars in victories. Leading the score board for the second week in a row was Shantasia Allen, who scored 16 points during the game. Following Allen was Jade Frazier with 7 points, Omari Kirkland with 6 points, Ashley Savage and Kari Edwards who both scored 5 points. This was the last season game before the Lady Cougars head into winter break.

According to Coach Smalls, “The girls have a week off to get away from basketball and regroup themselves.” This regrouping will lead into the preparations for the Charleston Invitational Tournament at Porter-Gaud High School held December 27-29th. The first game of the tournament for the Lady Cougars will be on December 27th at 12:00pm against a team from Atlanta GA. The Lady Cougars have started off their season strong, and have continued to build their team. After the completion of the Charleston Invitational Tournament, the Lady Cougars will continue to train as they will come back to their first Home region game against Cane Bay High School on January 9th at 6:00pm.
