Why do good folks suffer? God want us to know that this world is full of trouble. But just because the world is full of trouble, you don’t have to let your heart be troubled. It’s only a test. Do you remember the radio announcement that stated that after the beep there would be a test? Too often we just miss the beep. When folks don’t like you – beep-it’s just a test. When people pull you down- beep- don’t give up, it’s only a test. Let trouble bring the out best in you!

In Job 1, among all the great heroes of the Old Testament, there has stood none quite like Job. Job was one of the most unusual characters who went to the University of Hard Knocks. He knew all about sorrow and tribulations so how does Job hold on to heaven when hell is on his back? He lost it all, his children, his possessions and even his health and Job took all of his troubles and still held to God’s unchanging hand. Often, we don’t handle trouble well. We have trouble when one lie is told on us but Job took everything that the enemy had to give him at once and still held on to God’s hands.

The devil took away everything Job had and he had trouble on top of trouble. So, how did he hold on to heaven when hell was on his back? How do you hold on when your friends turn their backs on you and everything seem to be going to pieces? The secret is to worship God! Find your own praying ground and go down on your knees. Job worshipped and said the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away but Blessed be the name of the Lord. Just hold on. Hell may be on your back, but hold on because God is able!
