Cougars Fall To Cane Bay

The Colleton County Cougars fell to Cane Bay Cobras 17 to 24. Despite losing Coach Peeler thought it was their best effort defensively. He also wanted to give credit to the Cobras for hanging in there and making plays when they had too. Coach Peeler also added that two teams played hard, and we just didn’t make the plays in critical moments and Cane Bay did. Coach Peeler said,” Craig Grant continues to play well, completing 11 to 16 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 17 rushes for 80 yards. Lance Calcutt is a weapon on special teams punting 5 times for a 45 yard average, a 61 yarder, and dropping three of the five inside the 20.” Coach Peeler added, defensively Jameson Butler and Jalen Lawton had good games, but really it was the collective effort of the entire defense that gave them the opportunity to stay in the game.

The Cougars need to cut down on penalties and turnovers. “These types of costly mistakes really killed our momentum and hurt our efforts during those critical moments of the game. We will be back to work and ready for the next one” Coach Peeler said.

The Colleton County Cougars have homecoming this Friday against the Beaufort Eagles. This will be a huge opportunity for the Cougars against a really good team. Come out and support these young guys while they play their hearts out.
