Colleton Medical Host Spectacular Movie Night

If you happened to be driving down Bells Highway on Saturday night and passed the hospital, you may have noticed a large crowd gathered around the walking area next to the hospital. As a way to give back to the community, Colleton Medical Center hosted their first Family Movie Night on Saturday October 21st. CMC’s Family Movie Night consisted of Disney’s Moana projected on a 20-ft. screen which played for guest to enjoy while relaxing on chairs, blankets, and even hay bales. According to Marketing Director Ashley Phelps, “It turned out to be a spectacular event!” This was in great part to the help of all of the staff members who participated in the event. Before the movie, guest were able to grab a bag of popcorn, sweets, and get their faces painted. Goodie bags were also given out to children who attended the event. “The community seems to have loved the event,” Phelps said. Phelps also stated that during the event, several of the attendees told her how much their children and grandchildren enjoyed attending. According to Phelps, although the event was free and open to the public, individuals who intended on attending were asked to register. Through that registration and sign in, over 325 individuals attended Movie Night. “Everyone seemed to really enjoy the event,” Phelps said, “We will definitely be doing something like this annually and will probably have more community events to come.” According to Phelps, the event would not have been possible without two very important aspects, the staff and the community. “ I want to thank the staff who came out to support the event, they were phenomenal,” Phelps said, “And I want to thank the community for coming out and supporting the hospital as well.”
