Colleton Courtyard new administrator: André Williams

On June 16, André Williams started his post as the New Administrator of Colleton Courtyard Assisted Living Facility located in Walterboro at 210 Academy Road. Williams is a seasoned administrator bringing with him years of leadership and clinical management experience to Colleton Courtyard. He is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Certified Residential Care Administrator (CRCFA). Williams received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Citadel Military College in Charleston SC and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Oakland City University in Oakland Indiana. He has held previous positions as Residential Services Director and Interim Executive Director at Sweetgrass Court Assisted Living Facility in Mt. Pleasant SC and nursing position at Riverside Health and Rehab. The facility in Charleston SC.
Williams is a 20-year veteran of the US Army Reserves and US Army where he proudly served his country. During active duty service, Williams held positions as Healthcare Facility Manager, Training Manager, and Immunization Clinic Manager. In these positions, Williams gained valuable skills in his duties and responsibilities ranging from direct patient care to administrative and management of implementing programs for both military and civilian personnel. “My time and experience in the military afforded me the skills, knowledge, and passion needed to provide Court Yard with the leadership it needs to be a better facility,” said Williams. “I’m prepared for the challenge and look forward to the opportunity to be of service to the residents at Court Yard and the Colleton Community,” he says.
It is no secret to the community that Colleton Court Yard is in need of improvement and overall stable leadership. Since Williams took over leadership at Colleton Court Yard in June he shared with the paper that he has accomplished three major task that were top priorities for the facility. The facility is currently fully staffed which includes five managers and all clinical and support staff positions. There is now an On-site Medical Director that sees residents at the facility which help prevent emergency room visits and decreases unnecessary hospital readmissions. The DHEC Rating for the Kitchen has passed approval rating, improving from a “C” to an “A” rating.
“We still have much to accomplish but my staff and I are up for the challenge to provide the residents with the best service and care,” says Williams. “I understand how the service we provide not only impacts the residents, it also impacts their families and the community as a whole,” he says. Williams is in constant communication with DHEC and has their full support and cooperation to meet all regulatory standards to position the facility for success.
