CCMS Jr Cougars Volleyball are still on the prowl

The Colleton County Middle School Jr Cougars Volleyball team continue to show great poise on the court as they took on Allendale-Fairfax in a home match on Monday, September 30. They won three straight sets 25-5, 25-6 and 25-17. CCMS Jr Cougars Head Volleyball Coach Marrissa Jones said, “The girls are displaying great confidence as they prove their skills with great ball control. With the conference tournament drawing near, they are really working hard for their spot in the top four.”
Wednesday, October 2nd was parent’s night for the Jr Cougars. The 8th grade players were escorted on the court by their parents. They are as follows:
Shandi Brown escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Kerion Brown
Jenna Cox escorted by Mr. and Mrs. John Cox
Hailey Craven escorted by Mr. William Craven
Kaniah Ferguson escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Terry Ferguson
Kaylee French escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Raymond French
Maggie Kennedy escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Benjy Kennedy
Lily Kilpatrick escorted by Mr. and Mrs. Eran Kilpatrick
Rosie Temple escorted by Mr. Riv Temple
The Jr Cougars were scheduled to play Hardeeville-Ridgeville but due to some unfortunate circumstances, Hardeeville-Ridgeville forfeited the game giving the Jr Cougars the win. Since it was parent’s night, they decided to take on their parents in a match. Coach Jones added, “They showed no mercy on their parents taking the win. It was a great experience for the players to relax and have some fun on the court. The parents got a chance to feel the pressure the girls face when playing other teams. Everyone enjoyed themselves. This was really a parent’s night! We could not have planned it better. It turned out great!” Stay tuned for further details as the parents are asking for a rematch.
