CCHS held signing ceremony

Colleton County High School had six student-athletes participate in the National Letter of Intent signing ceremony on Monday morning in the media center. Colleton County Athletic Director Wayne Alston introduced the 2020 student-athletes and congratulated them on deciding to take their athletic talents a little further and compete on the collegiate level. A parent or a family member of each student-athlete spoke on their behalf. There was not a dry eye in the crowd.
The 2020 student-athletes were:
Jeremiah Mosley- Allen University for football
Edwardian Stansel- Allen University for football
Omari Kirkland- USC Salkehatchie for basketball
Kylee Hart- Erskine University for football
Jacarre Stevens- Averett University for football
Trekell Murray- Palmetto Academy for football
“I am proud of these guys for not only continuing their athletic careers but most importantly, their education,” said CCHS Cougar Varsity Head Football Coach Coby Peeler. “This is really the nucleus of not only what we are as a team, but of where we’re going. This group has really laid the foundation for the future, and will be, because of that, a huge part of the future success of our program as well.”
“We are very excited about Omari joining our Salk family. Her work ethic on and off the court, plus her natural talent is everything we are looking for,” said USC Salkehatchie Lady Indians Head Basketball Coach Glen Mayo. “She will have a great career at Salk over the next two seasons – we encourage everyone to come out and continue supporting her.”
