“When I took office earlier this year, one of my objectives was to put the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division into a position where several cold cases could be looked into to make sure everything that could have been done on the case was completed.  In this case, I am pleased that investigators were able to develop more leads to the point where an arrest was made. ” said Sheriff Strickland.  The Solicitor’s Office was also involved in the process of bringing charges against Williams after investigators presented to them the additional information.

The motive for the shooting is believed to have been an attempted robbery of the victim.
