8th Grade athletes sign to play football for CCHS

On Wednesday, May 2nd, 8th grade athletes from Colleton Middle School attended a signing to play football for Colleton County High School. Jay Davis, Assistant Athletic Director, wanted to do something different to encourage the students to stay on course with transitioning to the high school. Davis said,” The athlete department is looking to continue to bridge the gap between middle and high school athletes. We have been losing students when they transition to the high school for different reasons. I could not have made this happen without the assistance of Head Varsity Football Coach Coby Peeler.”

CCMS is in the top 5 with student athletes in the state of South Carolina, and they are continuing to grow every year. The athletes that signed included: Christopher Hiers, Ethan Gosnell, Steven Zaske, Trey Simmons, Jorge Castro, Carson King, Dakari Berry, Tre’vion Magwood, Michael Williams, Iain Yahner, Bryan Ackerman, Generious Brown, Alvin Lewis, Demarrie Martin, Amarie Daniels, Joshua McClendon, Cole Smith, Shawn Myers, Dakota Fletcher, Donte Pinkney, and Jackie White.
